Members are requested not enter any club competitions if they know they will not be available on Finals Day ( 2nd Sunday in September)
The draw should be made as soon as possible after this and the handicapping done. The draw and handicapping should be done by the Competition Organiser and the Club Chairman or a Team Captain.
Handicapping
Handicapping for the Veterans is done by age as follows (Age at 1st April) –
Handicapping for the St Annes Cup should be done by the Competition Organiser and the Chairman or a Team Captain, with the objective of giving everyone a fair chance of winning the trophy. Previous winners of the St Annes Cup will be given an additional handicap, to try to encourage new winners.
Handicapping for the Pairs will be done as follows – Entrants are divided roughly into 2 groups, A team players and B team players. Pairs are drawn at random comprising an A Team player and a B Team player.
In the event of an odd number of entrants then the last player out is drawn with a blank partner. This partner will then be determined by drawing lots from the losing players (either A Team or B Team) in the first round of the competition.
All games are 21up and handicaps should be put on the scorecard prior to commencement of the game.
General Rules
Games should be played in a friendly and sportsman like manner.
Players are expected to arrange their own matches at a time mutually convenient to both players.
Players are encouraged to arrange matches as soon as possible so as to avoid a backlog near finals day.
All semi-final matches should be completed by the end of the first Sunday in September.
Finals day will be on the 2nd Sunday in September starting at 10:30am.
The pairs handicap shall take place on the 2nd Sunday in June, starting at 1:30pm and be played down to the final 2 pairs.
No practice to take place on the day when a match is due to be played.
In the event of a league match or other competition game being played on the green prior to a match, the player should inform his/her opponent accordingly, and give him/her the option to re-arrange.
On finals day, if a player is playing someone who has already taken part in a final on that day, then the player will be allowed 10 minutes practice prior to playing the match.
Disputes
In the event of a query, dispute, inability to arrange a match or inability to continue in the competition the competition organiser must be notified as soon as possible, if the competition organiser is involved in the dispute or is unavailable then the club chairman should be contacted. Their decision shall be final.
In the case of an individual not being able to continue in the competition he/she must notify the competition organiser, who will then put through the player beaten in the previous round, in the event that this happens in the first round their opponent would receive a bye.
